Frequently Asked Questions
Frequently asked questions about deceased estate clearances, second hand furniture buying, and house clearances across Perth.
WHAT DO YOU DO?
CASH4GOODS has been helping Perth homeowners since 2004, specialising in home contents removal, furniture buying, and estate clearances.
If you’re dealing with a deceased estate, downsizing, aged care move, or simply need quality furniture and household goods sold and removed we make it simple. We assess value, pay you for what’s worth money, and remove everything efficiently so you don’t have to juggle multiple people.
WHO IS CASH4GOODS BEST SUITED FOR ?
CASH4GOODS is best suited for Perth homeowners who need bulk household contents cleared and sold professionally.
We’re ideal for:
- Deceased estate executors
- Downsizers and aged care transitions
- Property settlement clearances
- Landlords and property managers
- Families managing full or partial house lots
If your items have genuine resale value — from quality timber furniture to collectables or full house contents — we assess, pay, and remove everything in one streamlined process.
We are not suited to single low value items or basic household goods on their own.
I feel overwhelmed & I don’t know where to start?
That’s completely normal. The majority of people call us during stressful transitions.
The first step is easy: call Darren. You’ll speak to a real person who’s done this hundreds of times.
We’ll talk you through what’s worth selling, what can be removed, and the best way to move forward. There’s absolutely no pressure — just straight answers and free advice to help you make an informed decision.
ARE YOU POLICE CHECKED OR TRUSTED TO HANDLE PERSONAL BELONGINGS?
Yes absolutely, CASH4GOODS understands that we are often working inside private homes and handling personal or sentimental belongings.
Darren holds a current National Police Certificate, giving clients added peace of mind especially when dealing with deceased estates, elderly clients, or sensitive situations. A copy of the certificate can be provided upon request.
Darren is also a volunteer firefighter with the Kalamunda Bush Fire Brigade, reflecting his commitment to serving and supporting the local community.
In many cases, we are trusted to work independently, including collecting keys from executors or real estate agents, accessing properties alone, and completing full clearances without the owner present.
We approach every job with respect, discretion, and professionalism.
WHAT DO YOU BUY?
We buy second hand furniture, white goods, Hi-Fi & record players, vintage & antique items, shed & garden items, collectables & memorabilia, rustic items, jewellery & old watches, 50’s 60’s & 70’s furniture, electrical & Bric-a-Brac.
We cannot purchase every item, but if you’re unsure just send photos for confirmation to;
HOW DO YOU PAY FOR GOODS?
We pay you cash in the hand for all your second hand furniture & household goods. However, in some instances businesses and executors may require EFT transfer with a receipt directly linked to a specified name. We can also pay instantly with OSKO and PayID.
What do I do with furniture & household goods you don’t purchase?
Darren has over 20 years’ experience in the second-hand furniture industry and previously worked as manager for a large Perth-based charity. If items aren’t suitable for purchase or re-sale, we can help guide owners toward appropriate donation or ethical disposal options where possible.
Our focus is always on responsible repurposing outcomes — not landfill dumping.
CAN I DROP OFF FURNITURE TO THE WAREHOUSE ?
No. We do not accept drop-offs or walk-ins. All purchases by CASH4GOODS are by appointment only and based on photos sent in advance or on-site inspections.
We buy full house lots and estate contents, not individual or low-value items. Items such as TV units, damaged furniture, or heavily worn seating are not purchased.
WHAT IS YOUR VALUE MINIMUM FOR PICK-UP?
Our minimum is based on resale value, not load size.
We buy everything from single high-value items (mid-century dining sets, quality timber furniture, collectables, vintage pieces, etc.) all the way through to full house lots, small ute loads, and big truckloads.
To keep free Perth-wide pick-up fair with travel, labour, and running costs, we don’t collect low-value items on their own for example, things like foam mattresses or broken goods — let’s say, more landfill than treasure.
If your load has genuine value big or small we’re there.
Just send photos to cash4goodsperth@gmail.com or text Darren directly on 0418 323 959 and we’ll confirm ASAP.
DO YOU OFFER A FREE PICK-UP SERVICE ?
YES we offer free pick-up across the entire Perth metro area, north and south of the river.
For standard household goods and lower-value jobs, we generally stick to suburbs within a practical radius of our Carlisle warehouse.
BUT here’s the important bit…
If your load has strong value (mid-century pieces, quality timber furniture, collectables, or a full house lot), we’ll travel further. We’ve gone from Mandurah to Ocean Reef for the right load because when the gear is good, distance isn’t a deal-breaker.
We cover all Perth metro areas, including coastal suburbs (from Mosman Park through to Ocean Reef), north and south of the river, and the Perth Hills. And for the right load, yes we’ll go beyond the metro.
To check if your suburb qualifies for free pick-up or a long-distance run, just send photos to
cash4goodsperth@gmail.com
or text Darren on 0418 323 959 for quick confirmation.
DO YOU COLLECT FROM NORTHERN SUBURBS LIKE WANNEROO?
Yes. CASH4GOODS collects across the entire Perth metropolitan area, north and south of the river, including suburbs such as Wanneroo, Ocean Reef, Joondalup, the coastal corridor, and the Perth Hills.
Free collection is determined by resale value, not distance from our Carlisle warehouse.
If your load contains mid-century furniture, quality timber pieces, collectables, or full house contents, we will travel. For lower-value jobs, collection is generally limited to suburbs within a practical radius of our Carlisle warehouse.
Send photos first and we’ll confirm quickly.
WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED ?
We have a warehouse located centrally in Carlisle so we can travel to most suburbs within the Perth metropolitan area. The warehouse is NOT open to the general public. There are heavy vehicles unloading.
DO YOU BUY OFFICE FURNITURE?
No, we don’t buy office furniture. CASH4GOODS focuses on quality second-hand household furniture, collectables, and home contents not commercial or office fittings. Our specialty is helping Perth homeowners clear full or part house lots from deceased estates, downsizing moves, and residential furniture clearances quickly and professionally.
DO YOU BUY BABY FURNITURE?
No, we don’t buy baby furniture or nursery items. CASH4GOODS deals only in quality second-hand household furniture not cots, prams, or children’s goods for safety reasons. We specialise in adult home furniture, collectables, and complete house clearances across Perth, with carefully selected pieces sold through our second-hand shop online.
Do you buy fabric, Floral, pattern or macrosuede sofas?
No — patterned, floral, macro suede, and certain fabric sofas are generally not suitable for resale as they:
- Lose shape over time
- Are prone to staining
- Have low buyer demand in the second-hand market
We focus on items with strong resale potential.
Do you buy wall units or large entertainment units ?
Wall units, large modular entertainment units, low TV units & TV cabinets are no longer in demand in most cases due to:
- Modern open-plan living & larger TV’s being wall mounted
- Size and access issues
- Very low resale demand
These items are usually not accepted, even if well cared for.
DO YOU BUY JARRAH & DARK TIMBER FURNITURE?
No, we can no longer purchase Jarrah, dark-stained timber, or “chunky” darkwood furniture. While these pieces were once very popular and are often high-quality, buying trends change. The current second-hand resale market in Perth now favours lighter timbers, brighter finishes, and more minimal styles.
Because there is very low buyer demand for dark stained executive desks, heavy dining suites, or dark bedroom furniture, we are unable to take them into our inventory, regardless of their original cost or condition.
DO YOU BUY BEDS & LINEN?
No. We do not purchase used beds, mattresses, linen, pillows, or bedding.
Due to hygiene standards and very low resale demand, these items are not suitable for resale.
Exception: We only consider high-quality Pillow Top mattresses (Double, Queen, or King) that are less than 3 years old with no stains or wear.
DO YOU BUY HOUSEHOLD GOODS ?
Our focus is on quality furniture and household contents with strong second-hand value.
WE GENERALLY DO NOT BUY; Everyday kitchenware (toasters, kettles, pots/pans), plain glassware, plastic storage, small wine racks or basic “op-shop” style bric-a-brac.
WE DO BUY: Vintage and high value items like 60s/70s kitchen canisters, West German pottery, high-end Hi-Fi gear, and unique vintage memorabilia.
DO YOU HAVE A SECOND HAND SHOP?
Since COVID-19 we made adjustments to our operations. CASH4GOODS now operates as a second hand furniture shop in Perth, buying, selling, and clearing quality pre-loved items daily. All sales are handled online via our on-line furniture shop with warehouse collection available by appointment.
WHAT ARE YOUR TRADING HOURS?
We pick up second hand furniture and household goods from around the Perth Metropolitan area 6 days a week. Mon-Friday 8.30am to 5pm & Saturday 8.30am to 12pm.
I LIVE OVERSEAS OR FAR AWAY – CAN YOU MANAGE MY JOB ?
In many cases, we are trusted to access properties independently and complete full house clearances without the owner or executor present.
We have requests to remove items from deceased estates, rental properties or people who have moved interstate/overseas regularly. We even collect the keys from the agent and drop them back off.
DO YOU REMOVE GOODS FROM HIGH RISE APARTMENTS?
Yes, we do. However, these types of jobs are often difficult and are often very time consuming & may also involve working in lifts. Working in lifts may often require procedures such as prior bookings with the building manager to use the lift and specialised covers to wrap the lift walls to prevent damage. Costs may apply; however, these can often be offset by the value of items we recover to cover labour and access time.
CAN YOU CLEAR A HOUSE BEFORE SALE OR DEMOLITION?
Yes — we regularly clear homes before sale, settlement, or demolition, ensuring everything is removed efficiently while identifying valuable items.
HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN OPERATING?
CASH4GOODS has been operating since 2004, helping Perth homeowners buy, sell, and clear furniture and household goods for over 20 years.
We service the entire Perth metropolitan area, including north and south of the river, coastal suburbs, and the Perth Hills. From small high-value pick-ups to full house and deceased estate clearances, we bring experience, straight advice, and reliable service every time.
